By developing a global perspective for students, the institute expects students to be more forward-looking.

1.     To equip students with expertise in biotechnology and knowledge of biological medicine.

2.     To equip students with professional ethics.

3.     To train students to develop skills in scientific innovation and problem-solving.

4.     To train students to develop skills to face career challenges and responsibilities.

The curriculum is divided into four categories: fundamental theories and practice of biotechnology, advanced professional courses, internship programs and cooperative education. With the combination of theory and practice, the institute holds the mandates and educational objectives to train students to apply knowledge to real-world scenarios.

The five full-time faculty members of institute specialize in different areas, which are highly complementary, and it provides the opportunity for the institute to develop small biomedical research teams. Each professor instructs graduate students in doing innovative scientific research. Each year, each of them has at least one published paper in international scientific journals. Faculty members are beginning to cooperate with one another to conduct interdisciplinary research and submitting research proposals to National Science Council or related organizations. Faculty members also accept research projects from NSC, Changhua Christian Hospital, Taichung veterans General Hospital, The Ministry of Economic Affairs, the ministry of Education and other organizations. Under their instructions, students are required to submit papers to symposiums at home and abroad, which broadens students view.

With years of efforts, the institute has purchased much equipment such as computer hardware, proteomics equipment, genomics equipment, molecular and structural biology software, Laminar flow, upright freezers, and so on.
